The genius of Felix Burns

Felix Burns, 1864-1920

Giving great music a new lease of life is one of our missions at the Sheet Music Stack.  That’s why we’re celebrating the music of Felix Burns throughout March, the month of his birthday in 1864.  Mr Burns was a prolific composer of light classical and popular pieces, under his own name, and pseudonyms which include Leona Lacoste, Claud Roslind and Leon Fabrina.  His compositions included piano solos and duets, and 16 dance albums; complete programmes for an evening’s dance.   Though written for the piano, the tune readily adapt to other instruments; and gain a new lease of life when adapted to the very different style of the accordion.

Felix Burns composed for all abilities – giving opportunity for players of all levels to make music and bring joy to other people.

Celebrate Felix Burns month with us; buy any Felix Burns piece at half-price; and download his personal favourite, Flowers of the Forest (also known as Woodland Flowers) free!

Flowers of the Forest is available as a Lead Sheet (tune and chords) or arranged for  accordion.
