Try this lovely waltz – it’s in three parts, and not too difficult for an average to intermediate player. The original sheet music was dedicated to Miss Phyllis Dare and had this gorgeous cover. Phyllis Dare (1890-1975) was an actress and singer of the Edwardian era, and also appeared in some early films.

Did we mention we love Felix Burns? The latest upload at The Sheet Music Stack is the Flag of Empire Dance Album – a complete programme of dances, including the fabulous Queen Mary Waltz. This grand veleta waltz (which means it was designed for a group of couples) was revived in the 50s and given a whole new flavour by Jimmy Shand on his accordion.
Here at the stack, you can download the music immediately by clicking on the links below; or buy the whole Flag of Empire dance album – that’s all 21 pieces for just £9.99.
Giving great music a new lease of life is one of our missions at the Sheet Music Stack. That’s why we’re celebrating the music of Felix Burns throughout March, the month of his birthday in 1864. Mr Burns was a prolific composer of light classical and popular pieces, under his own name, and pseudonyms which include Leona Lacoste, Claud Roslind and Leon Fabrina. His compositions included piano solos and duets, and 16 dance albums; complete programmes for an evening’s dance. Though written for the piano, the tune readily adapt to other instruments; and gain a new lease of life when adapted to the very different style of the accordion.
Felix Burns composed for all abilities – giving opportunity for players of all levels to make music and bring joy to other people.
